Who DECIDES who YOU are?  Stepping out based on WHOSE you are make folk uncomfortable...and the only way to get through it or passed the discomfort is to face it. 
Meaningful conversation can only be had face-to-face; eye-to-eye. To shy away from that single possibility of understanding is to negate the authenticity of real discourse.  Everyone wants to be heard - - but very few are willing to listen until understanding has taken place.

    I sent this comment to Old Doc but he opted not to print it I guess because it's in support of your position. Anyway just so that the whole truth gets out there here's what I sent him: FOR PUBLIC RELEASE
    SUBJECT: Advisory Opinion A02-06
    The Commission notes that board members do not surrender the rights that they have as citizens such as freedom of speech when they become members of a school board.
