PAAAS Students -- Experience Life On Stage

14 PAAAS students were invited to participate in a Christmas Show special hosted by Pop Artist Jessica Simpson.

My daughter was sooooooooooooo excited, as I imagine all the students who got the opportunity to go were.

What a wonderful way to give these students "real world" experience in the Arts.

Kudos goes to Ms. Minatee, PAAAS Principal, Staff, Parents and Students and special thanks to PAAAS PTO V.P. for sending out this photo...

Don't Forget to VOTE!!

I received this today and thought it was quite fitting to rerun here...so Plainfield -- Elections are just around the corner!!

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,

"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied,

"You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be an Obama Democrat."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are -- or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect
me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

The Crux:

You are hearing from political pundits that the party of President Obama, the Democratic Party, will not do well during the upcoming election. It’s an easy call based on historical fact (the party in power always loses seats).

A big reason according to a poll by the Pew Trust is that we (minorities) tend to not vote in mid-term elections. Let’s change that! It’s intuitively obvious that the Republican party has no interest in helping the President fix the economy or anything else and if they regain power the country will be in far worse shape.

Encourage your friends and family to vote this midterm. Send this email if you think it will help. Create your own or add your comments.

Polls don't vote -- people do!

A CHANGE Wind "A" Blowing

Wow--Willa Spicer is stepping down...

Willa Spicer on the left and Acting Commissioner Rochelle Hendricks
“It’s just time to move on,” Spicer said yesterday. “But I’ll be somewhere, no question. I don’t think I’ll stay without a job for long.”
Besides the fact that Ms. Spicer reminds me of my paternal grandmother; she is a very interesting character. She's visited the Plainfield School District at least twice, with the most recent being as a result of the debauched emergency meeting called back in May.

I appreciate her direct eye-to-eye and clearly articulated style of communication. I have the greatest respect for people who tell it like it is!

I hope we here in Plainfield can find an opportunity to utilize the depth and wealth of experience in public education and policy that Willa Spicer holds!

10.10.10. = 64

Today would have been my Mom's 64th birthday and she would have been tickled pink to know that her day was extraordinary!  Not to mention --when you add up the digits of her age it too equals 10!

10.10 Wins as she would always say!

This was at my wedding -- which she referred to as
"HER" Wedding
She was definitely MORE BEAUTIFUL than the bride

This was one of the last photos we took together!
She was my Road Dog!

We would often leave our spouses
(not that it hurt their feelings any)
So we could go out and have a good time
-- Coming and Going!--

-- A Wonderful Mother, Sister, Friend --
Until the End!

Love and Miss You Madly Mommy!
