My heart, love and prayers of comfort go out to the Corbett family. I met Mrs. Corbett (affectionately known as Tiff) in the early 80’s and although I never had her as a teacher she was the advisor for my graduating class at Plainfield High School. Her commitment to the students of Plainfield was unyielding! We reconnect many times over the years as she was ALWAYS at our class reunions ready with smiles, laughs, hugs and ooh YES that all too honest advice and opinions.
She was one of the first people to contact me when she heard I was running for the Board of Education. Her support during that time and thereafter was invaluable! She was fierce; an unforgettable force to be reckoned with, but most of all she BELIEVED in the POWER OF EDUCATION and she VALUED EVERY SINGLE STUDENT she came into contact with - whether they were in her class or not.
To Jim, Lindsay and Jeffrey – thank you for sharing her with us! Please know that we LOVED, RESPECTED and CARED for her deeply. Truly BLESSED and HONORED have we been by her presence, persistence and LOVE!
May peace be with you throughout the days, months and years to come, and may your memories carry you.
Fondly,
Renata
