Here's/Hear What Is Going On Plainfield...

Hi Plainfield – I’ve missed writing but quite honestly I’ve been so busy “DOING THINGS”; specifically working with the various organizations to plan the 10,000 voices strong united for peace rally on October 2nd. I’m so excited about this opportunity for our children and our community. What better way to say and promote PEACE in our community than to come together on one accord representing all facets of our community and the society at large!

In addition to this initiative, I’m also working with the Youth Council (A Co-Op of various agencies serving the Plainfield Community), Project Hope and the EAGLES Mentoring Group in an effort to bring some positive programs to the Plainfield community. We have got to provide our youth with alternative activities if we want them to stay away from gangs and subsequent non-productive activities and violence.

I’m very encourage at the progress our school district is making to equip our schools with the right mix and appropriate certificated staff to meet the individual, as well as state mandated, needs of the constituents served by each school. Slow and steady wins the race!

I hope as we forge ahead into the next few months that we will continue to see a rise in parental participation, teacher commitment and student achievement – as well as community partnerships. It is the totality of engagement from all these individuals that will move the Plainfield Public Schools passed the point of mediocrity.

Please avail yourself of these opportunities to get involve and promote unity and peace in our community:
